Dancer Information for New Kids in Chicago
Welcome to Dance To EvOLvE...we're excited and thrilled to have you as a part of our EvOLvE dancing Chicago family! We hope you noticed already, but we love what we do and want to share our passion with you and your kids. (There will be lots of smiles and giggles in dance class!) This video gives the highlights, but everything you need to know is below...read on!
Why do our dancing families choose Dance To EvOLvE?
Your Choices. Our Knowledge. Their Fun!
EvOLvE believes that the teacher makes all the difference. Each teacher is carefully chosen by their experience, passion, professionalism, and bubbliness! Small student ratios, curriculum goals, and ongoing teacher trainings create our progressive, innovative and age appropriate dance lessons. All this ensures that your dancer is in the best possible learning environment. Our talented Chicago teachers create welcoming lessons that balance learning with fun so that our dancers are always improving and of course, having a blast!
What should your dancer wear to dance lessons?
We offer a flexible dress code that does not require any certain colors or outfits. Receive 10% off your first order with Discount Dance by using Dance To EvOLvE's code TP35961. You will also find affordable dance attire and shoes at stores such as Target, Payless, and sometimes Walmart, but that can be a hit or miss. You can always check local dance stores but the prices will be higher. See more details on dress code and dance shoes.
Is there a dance recital?
In addition to small in-class performances throughout the year, EvOLvE does present an annual Chicago dance recital in the spring that is not required but encouraged for age appropriate dance classes. For more information, you can look at our Chicago dance recital page to mark your calendars and make sure your dancer doesn’t miss out.
Need to make-up a dance lesson?
Class make-ups are allowed for sickness, family emergencies, or out of town. A dancer has one month to make-up any missed class from the day he/she missed class. It can be made-up in any age appropriate class at any location that has availability. We appreciate an email prior to your make-up class so we can confirm the class has availability for an extra student. (We always want to maintain quality!) Make-up classes cannot be done in a dancer’s regular class. See schedule for make-up options.
Who is your point of contact for Chicago?
Since EvOLvE has multiple locations, there is not one traditional EvOLvE front desk. Your dance teacher is your direct point of contact but don't hesitate to contact us in the office. (Compared to the site’s front desk.) We are always thrilled to hear from our dancing families.
What do parents do during dance lessons?
*Please take your dancer to the bathroom before class.
YOU&me Movement & Music Dance Lesson: This is a parent/child interactive class so parents will stay in the room with their child.
Magical Munchkins & Baby Boppers Dance Lesson: Parents participate as needed and therefore stay in the room. (They need your love, encouragement and support throughout the dance lesson.)
Tiny Movers, Beat Breakers, Star Shiners & Older Dance Lesson: These are our big kid classes so parents watch from a distance outside of the room. It is not required for parents to stay during class as long as your child has been signed in.
When and what are parent observation days?
In addition to the spring recital, EvOLvE hosts parent observation days throughout the year. Families can sit inside their dancer's room and take pictures and video until their hearts' content. Learn what to expect. Ask your teacher, check our social media, view the calendar or EvOLvE’s newsletter for our parent observation dates...and get your camera ready! These are the days you won't want to miss.

Do you have feedback?

Can I bring a friend to a dance lesson?
Since we are big believers in sharing the fun, please invite your friends to the scheduled bring a friend days on our calendar.
