Step 1: Understand What The Showcase Is
Little Stars. Big Smiles. Forever Fun Memories!
An event such as the showcase is often a ‘first’ for many families and their young dancer. Our showcase is a celebration, not a competition.
We want everyone feeling comfortable, confident and excited! Dance To EvOLvE has specialized in this age group since 2008. We create a fun, inviting, age-appropriate and non-intimidating showcase day for our dancers and families to remember.
When the costume is delivered in class in May, it will include an informational letter that will explain all the details you need. This includes: check-in times, costume care and instructions, hair & make-up tips, and safety procedures. Learn the benefits of performance and the showcase.
Tip: Be flexible and plan sleeping and meal times accordingly so we get the best out of our dancers. (Remember that class parents will have snacks.)
Step 2: Choose Your Experience Level To Secure Your Dancer's Costume
These locations will be automatically enrolled during measurement week in class, unless you choose to opt-out.

Costume Information & Showcase Policies
* Access Sizing Charts Here, coming soon.
* After 4/29, a minimum $50 rush fee will be applied if costume is still available. If you are a new student, contact us.
* Costumes are chosen by the EvOLvE team based on age, appropriateness, cuteness, availability of styles/sizes, and budget.
* Everything is included with the costume (except shoes). You keep it all!
* Costumes are non-returnable and non-refundable.
* Please note that costumes are ordered in available sizes based on measurements taken in class, consequently families are responsible for any needed alterations.
* There are no refunds on showcase after confirming participation.
* Tickets are non-refundable. Seating is first come first served, except for the VIP showcase experience.
* Attendance is especially important April-June. Any student who misses 3 or more classes during showcase season will be evaluated for their readiness to participate in the showcase.
* For 3 years and up, dancers are checked-in with a trained class parent.
* Rain Date: We will make an educated guess with the weather forecast but the show will run except in the event of a heavy rainstorm. (The outdoor stage does have a cover.) We appreciate families support in the unpredictability that weather can bring. If the show needs a delayed start or postponed to 6/16, families will receive a text and email the morning of the show. There are no refunds for families who do not attend on 6/16.
Step 3: Register For The ALL STAR Family Dance
Come join us for a celebration of family ties in our ALL STAR Family Dance, where you’ll laugh, dance, and create unforgettable memories together. We promise an easy, fun, and non-intimidating experience, so don’t be shy! Anyone is welcomed and encouraged to join your dancer for this special bonding moment. With just one rehearsal day and practice videos to help you at home, you’ll share a fantastic showcase performance togethor.
Rehearsal Date and Time: Sunday, June 2nd, 1:00-3:30pm
Rehearsal Location: Doyle Community Park (8175 Regents Rd, San Diego, CA 92122), Fenced-in outdoor area behind rec center.

Step 4: Register For The Musical Theatre Mash-Up
Introductory Offer to sing and dance into the fun with our new musical theatre program! In this musical theatre mash-up, dance to your favorite musical tunes, sing and act out scenes, and get ready to shine on stage. With just one rehearsal day and practice videos to help you at home, you’ll be part of a fantastic showcase performance. Join Dance To EvOLvE for a magical musical experience that’s sure to bring smiles to the stage!

Step 6: Volunteer & Help A Little Star Shine
We can’t do it without you! Volunteer at our annual showcase to share in the experience. Volunteer positions will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
To secure your spot, all you need to do is log in to your Parent Portal and sign up for a volunteer role that resonates with you. Benefits are included, but vary based on role, see descriptions for more information. Once you sign up, you will receive more details regarding your position.

Step 7: Know The Important Dates
March 11–17: Costume measurements will be taken in class. Parent/guardian initials are required on performance outfit sizing chart to confirm pricing option (Silver/Gold or VIP) or opt-out of showcase participation.
April 29: Participation Deadline (minimum $50 Rush Fee begins)
April-June: Attendance in class is especially important so dancers can learn their dances with confidence.
Beginning of May: Teachers will post showcase choreography online so that students can practice at home.
May: Performance outfits will be distributed in class as they arrive throughout May. A letter will be included which will include all the details that you need to know about show day and discussed during parent meeting.
Memorial Day (May 27th): Classes are running.
June 1: Musical Theatre Mash-Up @ 1:00 PM (Ages 5-12)
June 2: Family Dance Rehearsal @ 1:00 PM
June 9: Annual Showcase in the Park!
June 16: Thunderstorm Date for Annual Showcase in the Park!
June 10: Summer classes continue and summer camps begin! (At applicable locations, families are auto-enrolled month-to-month)
Step 8: Practice At Home
All teachers will film each class’ showcase dance so that your dancer can practice at home and build his/her confidence…and have some fun!

Photography/ Videography: Photography and videos will be permitted during showcase; please be respectful of other families attending.
