Annual Recital Benefits & Policies

Little Stars. ⭐ Big Smiles. ⭐ Forever Fun Memories! ⭐

Our non-intimidating and age-appropriate environment allows dancers to fully experience the performing arts while developing important life skills.

The Benefits of Performance

  • Recital is a fun experience that creates lifetime memories for every dancer and their family.
  • The recital allows dancers to fully experience performing art and the unique feeling of being on stage.
  • Preparing for recital is a way for kids to work on memorization skills, rhythm, technique, teamwork, and much more…and they LOVE having something to be proud of.
  • It gives kids the opportunity to perform in front of an audience in Chicago that will boost self-confidence in everything they do and develop important life skills.
  • Family and friends in Chicago get to see and celebrate what their dancers have learned in dance class.

The Benefits of Dance To EvOLvE’s Annual Recital

  • Different recital experience levels to choose from that include a costume!
  • A one stop shop for families! Stage time practice is scheduled directly before the actual show, to ensure convenience for our dancing families.
  • Volunteer opportunities in exchange for benefits such as free tickets and t-shirts (opens mid-April).
  • Recital preparation starts in spring as to not distract from non-recital dancers and regular weekly lessons.
  • We hold 2-3 mini-shows (approximately 1 hour each) compared to one very long show.
  • Age appropriate movement and costumes.
  • Dance To EvOLvE believes in providing students with a non-intimidating environment for a memorable experience (no hot or scary lights and no distracting effects).

Recital Requirements/ Policies

  • The spring classes do spend a little more time working on choreography for recital, but the dance class is still structured and highly beneficial to all dancers in class. While recital is highly encouraged, it is not required as we know it is not for every family.   If you are unable to do the recital we would still love to have you in class! *All dancers wanting to participate in the recital should be enrolled in the winter session and must be enrolled in the spring session.
  • All dancers 3 years or older are welcome to participate in the recital. (2 yrs and under classes are at the discretion of the teacher based on readiness.)
  • Please be on time for your dancer’s check-in/drop off time so that your dancer does not miss their chance to practice on stage.
  • During practice stage time and the performance:
    • For dancers 2 years or younger, 1 adult will be allowed to join them.
    • Dancers 3 years or older, will be supervised and in the care of a class parent backstage.
  • There are no refunds on recital after confirming participation.
  • Costumes are non-returnable and non-refundable.
  • Please note that costumes are ordered in available sizes based on measurements taken in class, consequently families are responsible for any needed alterations.
  • Tickets are non-refundable. Seating is first come first served, except for the VIP recital experience.
  • Attendance is especially important April-June. Any student who misses 3 or more classes during recital season will be evaluated for their readiness to participate in the recital.
