Lou C.

EvOLvE Teacher

Lou Chavez has been dancing since he was three years old. He began learning ballet and tap and continued on to jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and contemporary. Lou has studied at various studios when he moved as a kid and began competition dance around ten years old. In high school, Lou grew to compete in the advanced groups at The Movement Dance Center in all styles and attended the Coronado School of the Arts Classical and Contemporary Dance program. There, he learned dance history and took regular ballet and modern classes, as well as master classes in many styles. He also learned to choreograph and stage pieces of fellow students, choreographing for productions put on by the school each year. After high school, Lou joined a hip hop group in San Jose called Commonality where the team was awarded first place at Vibe hip hop competition. Now, along with teaching at Dance to EvOLvE, Lou is a member of Afta Shock, the adult performance team at San Diego’s Culture Shock.
