Four things to look for in a dance school
If your little ones are interested in taking dance lessons, your choice of dance school is crucial to their experience. There are so many factors to take into consideration when searching for a dance school but put the panic on hold! Here are four things to consider..
Your child’s age
Selecting an age-appropriate dance school for your little ones is so important. It will improve learning effectiveness AND avoid physical damage from doing dance moves that their bodies cannot handle. Dance To EvOLvE specializes in teaching toddlers and kids from two-six years old. Therefore all of our kids dance classes are oriented towards children in this age range. Our dance instructors are experts in both dancing and teaching. So always look for a kids dance school that is dedicated to little dancers of your child’s age.
The type of dance that kids enjoy the most
Ask your kids what type of dance they would love to try. Then pick the dance school that specializes in this style. Beforehand, you can show them some videos online to give them an idea what each dance style is like. For example, EvOLvE focuses on a variety of dance styles for children over four years of age. Each teacher is carefully selected for their experience, passion and professionalism in certain dance.
Core value on the little ones
All kids dance schools are not necessarily alike, even when they offer the same dance classes. It is the core values of a dance school that makes a difference. Nobody wants to have to drive across half of the city to drop your their little dancers off for class. Therefore make sure that the dance centre you pick is in area close to your work or home. Dance To EvOLvE is a mobile dance school with multiple locations. Our classes are available in many areas throughout San Diego, Chicago and Cleveland. This means parents have a variety when deciding where they would like their kids to take dance classes.
In a nutshell, there are four things to keep in mind. The school has to be age appropriate, offer the dance style your child wants to learn, focused on little dancer’s development and located in a convenient area. We know that finding the right kids dance school can be tricky. However it will be worth it when you peek into the studio and see your little one twirling to the music or “breaking it down” with all the enthusiasm their little bodies possess.

Since then, my daughter has been taking a Tiny Movers class for almost a year now (tap/ballet combo) and she absolutely loves it! Miss Amy is an AWESOME teacher!
