It goes without saying that Chicago is one of the greatest cities in America. With so much to see and do and so many fabulous people to meet, how could you not love the Windy City?
What most people don’t know or aren’t aware of is this: Chicago has some of the best dance shows, programs, and classes out there. Our message? Let’s dance, Chicago!
Be a dance participant
There’s definitely not a lack of dance programs in the city for you to choose from. While there are a plethora of well-known dance companies, there are some smaller ones that are just as beneficial to dancers and non-dancers. Some companies offer you the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences. Others are meant for the purpose of gaining knowledge of a particular dance genre. Then there are those classes where the purpose is to just move! If you love to dance, you need to check out one of the many dance classes in Chicago.
Be a spectator in dance class
Rather watch someone else dance? Chicago has many professional and student-based dance companies that put on performances throughout the year. There’s always something on for you to go and see. Some of our Chicago favorites are The Nutcracker performed by both professional and student groups, spontaneous street Hip Hop performances, or salsa nightclubs where the professionals show off their moves.
Furthermore, Chicago plays host to a multitude of dance festivals. Summer brings all sorts of dance festivals to the city: Latin, jazz, hip hop, etc. If you want to be outside listening to great music and dancing, summer in Chicago is where it’s at.
Whether you want to be in the spotlight or watching from your chair, Chicago offers a dance activity for everyone. It’s just about going out and finding what speaks to you. So… what are you waiting for? Let’s dance, Chicago!

“We first discovered Dance to EvOLvE through a free dance program they put on at the local library. Since then, my daughter has been taking a Tiny Movers class for almost a year now (tap/ballet combo) and she absolutely loves it! Miss Amy is an AWESOME teacher! She is very knowledgeable about dance and makes the classes fun, age-appropriate, and encouraging for the kids. We’ve done a few makeup classes also and all the other teachers we encountered were so friendly, professional, and great with the kids. The company makeup policy is very flexible, which was so helpful when we had to miss class due to illness or travel. My daughter recently participated in her first recital and it was SO GREAT! The teachers did an incredible job preparing for a quality show. The dances were eclectic, the costumes were top-notch, the price was reasonable, and the kids seemed to have a great time! If you’re looking for a hard core competitive dance class for your child this is not for you but if you want something easy and fun then sign up! Prices are very reasonable too!”
